Retention

photo

This is the phase of treatment immediately following the removal of braces or appliance therapy. Retainers are used to stabilize the results of treatment. The tongue, lips and supporting structures must adapt to the new positions of the teeth. Retainers prevent the teeth from moving back to their original position. Typically the upper retainer is removable and the lower permanent. We follow our patients for one year in their retainers, working together to protect your investment.
